strengthening motivation and building self-confidence
- create a non-competitive atmosphere, promoting student comradery, mutual respect and pride in individual
and group accomplishments
- use age-appropriate choreography and skill progressions supporting a healthy self-image and instilling self-
respect
- inspire a desire for self-improvement and self-expression
- progress students based on ability, maturity and consistency, assisting students in realizing their maximum
potential
- apply excellent knowledge of anatomical structure and muscle function, making certain that students receive
instruction in correct dance technique, reducing the risk of injury and facilitating proficiency
- instill an appreciation for dance, whether as a participant or an observer
- maintain reasonably sized classes, based on the age range of each, assuring that all students receive
adequate attention
